About Games@theLibrary

During the week of October 17-23, 2011, APLA is sponsoring Games@theLibrary Week. What does this mean? Anytime during that week, we encourage all libraries in Atlantic Canada, (public libraries, academic libraries, libraries of all shapes and sizes) to host a "game-themed" event. There is no library too big or too small!!

Getting Started
Not sure what Games@theLibrary week is all about, or how to get started? We have resources to help you with ideas and to promote your event(s).Events can range from board games and chess, to trivia and scavenger hunts, to video games. Events can be geared towards specific groups or the whole community. Larger public libraries may consider having separate events for kids, tweens & teens, or seniors. You are limited only by your imagination and energy levels! Our goal is to show that libraries are places where people meet, learn, and have fun.

Grand Prize: Nintendo 3DS
One lucky winner in Atlantic Canada will be taking home a Nintendo 3DS gaming system! Be sure to register the participants from your branch's Games@theLibrary event(s) for their chance to win.

And don’t forget to tell us about what your library is doing in our Comments section below!
